Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Singing Competition Hits All the Right Notes

The Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Singing Competition, proudly sponsored by Newcastle Building Society, brought joy, talent, and community spirit together for a day filled with music and celebration.

A total of 221 children from eight primary schools across central Middlesbrough took to the stage, each delivering heartfelt performances. The atmosphere was electric as the young singers gave it their all, creating a memorable event for everyone involved.

Although every participant shone, the competition required winners to be chosen:

  • 1st Place – Park End Primary School
  • 2nd Place – Pennyman Primary Academy
  • 3rd Place – Thorntree Primary School

Park End Primary took home the Newcastle Building Society Trophy along with a £150 cheque, but every child left with something just as valuable—the memory of a fantastic, fun-filled day of music and friendship.

Judging such incredible performances was no easy task. A special thank you goes to Libby Lavelle from Musical Youth Middlesbrough and Kelly Coley from Newcastle Building Society, who served as judges and faced the difficult challenge of selecting the winners.

Gratitude is also extended to The King’s Academy, Middlesbrough, for generously hosting the event and providing a welcoming venue.

The Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Singing Competition was more than just a contest—it was a celebration of young talent, teamwork, and community spirit. Everyone involved helped make the day a major success, and the echoes of those beautiful songs will be remembered for a long time to come. 🎶
